Launch of Ibec Local Election Campaign & Directly Elected Mayor discussion
Local elections 2019 will be held on Friday 24 May. On the same day, people in Cork City, Limerick and Waterford will vote in a plebiscite on the issue of a Directly Elected Mayor with Executive Functions. In advance of election day, Ibec invites you to attend the launch of Ibec’s Local Government campaign & a discussion on Directly Elected Mayors.

- Learn about the pros and cons to having a Directly Elected Mayor and hear about what it would mean for local communities and for business
- You will be asked to vote on May 24 and it is important that business is informed about the proposal and the work of local authorities and how their decisions affect your business
The keynote speaker will be Dr Aodh Quinlivan Director, Centre for Local and Regional Governance in UCC. A panel discussion on local government reform and doing business locally will also take place
